Gary earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from B.Y.U. and then continued his studies at the University of Wyoming with a Juris Doctor and Master of Public Administration degree.

Gary is one of 10 children and knows how important family and having a strong, loving community are, especially during a youth’s formative years. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Gary currently resides in Provo, Utah, with his wife Ciara and their three children: Taylor, Kennedy, and Derek.
